明年美國即將進入川普時代，預料川普可能力推貿易保護主義，各界關注是否對中美經貿關係造成衝擊，甚至引發雙邊貿易戰。中國銀行國際金融研究所首席研究員宗良受訪指出，中美關係長期以來在經貿層面已構成依賴性及互補性，按現今全球經貿趨勢，美國不太可能自外於中國，走自己的路。
中國銀行國際金融研究所8日公布《2017年經濟金融展望報告》，宗良表示，目前中國對川普仍在觀察階段，對於川普未來可能力推的貿易壁壘、提高關稅等政策，中國將採「以靜制動」方式，待川普上任後才會有進一步做法。
談到中美未來經貿消長，宗良認為，美國不再推動《跨太平洋夥伴關係協定》（TPP），未來一帶一路及《區域全面夥伴關係協定》（RCEP）更顯重要，畢竟「互利共贏」才是國際社會的共識。
川普批評中國操弄人民幣匯率，宗良說，人民幣未來會朝可預期的方向進行，變得相對穩定，維持基本匯率水準。
中國銀行國際金融研究所資深研究員鍾紅受訪指出，中美未來經貿走向仍得取決於川普上台後是否會做出理性決策，現階段仍充滿不確定性。但她相信，美國新政府會維持中美友好的基調及政策方向，才有利於雙邊經貿發展。
